Hansi Flick confirms Raphinha is fit to face Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League on Wednesday
Barcelona boss Hansi Flick has explained Raphinha’s lack of playing time since the March international break, as he wants the Brazilian forward to have time to fully recover after a sustained spell on the pitch.

Flick has given Raphinha the chance to recuperate both physically and mentally after returning from international duty with Brazil, with the 28-year-old sitting out the games against Osasuna and Girona before playing the full 90 minutes of the 1-0 Copa del Rey semi-final second leg win at Atletico Madrid and coming on as a 57th-minute substitute in Sunday’s 1-1 draw at Real Betis.
‘After the break we gave him a little bit of time to recover but in training he was excellent, he was very agile and ready for tomorrow’, Flick said of Raphinha.

‘We have a very important Champions League game against Dortmund. These issues are handled by the club and I don’t take them seriously.’
‘The important thing is to focus on the present and we have to think about every game. We have to see how tired the players are, is that important or do we have to change positions?’
‘I’m happy because now we have players who can play in different positions. We have this schedule but it won’t make us suffer. Our goal is to win every game. We can handle it. We are very proud.’
Barcelona training session delayed by an hour after Flick showed his players a training video and had longer-than-usual talks with them.
‘We are clear about our approach and we have made some commitments. We want to be in the Champions League, we have to focus on the important things.’
Asked about Barcelona’s record ahead of Wednesday’s game, the German said: ‘The record is not interesting to me, and the past is the same. What is important is tomorrow. We are all happy to play in the Champions League. It is our challenge to play in Europe and we want to be there. ‘
